Two external monitors on Macbook pro 2012

Hi all,

I have a WFH setup which contains two DELL monitors and a DELL laptop that I am using with C-Cable and connected directly to Left monitor.

My question is...

My personal laptop is a Macbook pro-2012. If I want to use two monitors with my mac-2012, which does not have USB c-port, can I use USB-A Male to USB-C Female (See the picture) to use two monitors or do I have to connect to Thunderbolt in order to get that working? Any suggestions, please. TIA

Generally Thunderbolt digital video output, Some of the retina MBP models also had HDMI ports so you check if that works out for your monitor.

  • Native Mini DisplayPort output
  • DVI output using Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter
  • VGA output using Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter
  • Dual-link DVI output using Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter
  • HDMI audio and video output using third-party Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter

In your case may need to check what ports are available with your external monitor to match the above list.

Hope it helps.
