My wife has forgotten her Apple ID and Password

Hi All. We have a new IPhone 6 and I'm trying to set up the phone for my wife.

I had set up the phone in the past and I believe I linked it to my wife's ID.

We forgot her pass code to unlock the phone.

We took the phone to a shop and unlocked the phone.

BUT

My wife has forgotten her Apple ID and Password and I can not get into her account to set up the phone.

We are thinking that she has no Apple ID at all.

But the email that is linked to the iPhone is very similar to here hotmail email.

Very confused
