Need opinion. Pros vs. cons concerning nano-texture glass.

There are many opinions around matte displays and glossy displays.

If you're working in an area with direct lighting or sunlight or sunlit areas, the matte displays can substantially reduce glare.

If you're in an environment with diffuse lighting and no sunlight, matte displays aren't as helpful.

The matte display does very slightly decrease the sharpness over a glossy display. Very slightly.

Whether any of this is a consideration for you and your eyes and your preferences and your intended installation environment is probably best determined by looking at a display in an Apple Store or other environment. Apple Store lighting tends to be pretty bright, which means you'll be able to see glare if you align the iMac display "properly".

I do not own one, however, I have learned that the Nano-Texture glass is great at blocking light from coming on to the display.

However, a con is it makes the text and display very slightly less sharp.

At $500 and with my aging eyesight it's a no brainer - NO WAY`. I'd put the money towards larger SSDs (no Fusion Drives) and 3rd party RAM modules (about ⅓ the price of getting the RAM from Apple at the time of purchase).
