iPod Classic - how to restore to factory settings with OS Catalina (ver 10 etc.)

I have an iPod Classic A1136 30GB and want to erase my own stuff (restore to factory settings) on it before giving it away. Can I simply connect it to my Mac (OS ver 10.15.7 Catalina) and do it from there?

See Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support. The restore is done using Finder.
