iPad Mini 2 trade in

I am thinking about upgrading my iPad mini 2 to the newest version. When checking the trade in value with Apple, it keeps asking me if Touch ID is working. They have my serial number, so should know that is not a feature on this model. The value drops from 85.00 to 10.00 depending on my answer. Anyone else have this issue? Doesn’t make sense to me. 🤨

I have an iPad Mini 2 as well, what is possible to trade in with it?

Wow. Did you read my question?? I'm not considering lying or certainly not committing fraud over 70.00. And if I was, wouldn't be posting on a public forum about it. LMAO

Again, I'm aware of the age of the device, I own it. This is a technical question regarding the Apple website and its automated questions regarding the condition of a trade in.

You might be best advised to perform the trade-in at an Apple Store. Your iPad will be assessed by the Apple technicians against the current acceptance criteria - and a price will be offered. You can then accept or decline the offer.

Conducting the trade-in in-store removes all concerns and potential hastle.

For what its worth, the indicative trade-in values of iPad Air1 and mini2 appear to have increased in recent weeks. Whilst not stellar, the value achieved may go a long way towards the equivalent cost of an Apple Pencil.

If you lie about your iPad Mini 2 having Touch ID , Apple’s trade-in partner is going to actually check and assess this iPad and is going to discover that your iPad does NOT have any Touch ID and will only credit you the 10 dollar amount, then, when they have recieved your iPad or will in some fashion recoup the fraudulent additonal $70 dollars you claimed for trade by lying about your iPad Mini having this feature.

Why create possible additional aggravation for yourself, in the near future.

If you wish to try and commit some sort of fraud, about the actual features of this over 7-year old iPad, then that is your own decision/concern.

Apple's trade-in partner IS going to thoroughly check out and assess your traded-in iPad and discover for themselves what features your iPad Mini has, or not.

Your iPad Mini is simply too old.

No.

I understood your question just fine.

Does the Touch ID question offer a skip option?

Did the trade-in questions ask anything else about the Home button, in general?

If there is no skip option, I guess I am not really sure which way to answer this.

Technically, your iPad Mini has NO Touch ID, so technically Touch ID does NOT work, as it has none.

So, that is how I would answer this, in all honesty.
