Notes app: mix text and drawings with Apple Pencil (like text boxes)

Hi there,

I have recently started using my Apple Pencil with the Notes app (I’ve been a heavy user of the notes app, only with text, for a long time).

I have discovered it is great to take hand-written notes, a bit like something in between PowerPoint slides and writing/organising thoughts by hand on a notebook.

Yet it seems to be an either/or feature: either write text in notes, as I used to do; or use the pencil to write and organise text by hand, as well as add forms and figures (PowerPoint style).

Can’t I mix the two, drawing and keyboard text?

It seems it is organised in sections: text section, then drawing section, etc. Not possible to overlay drawings on keyboard text.

Basically the ideal things would be to have a sort of text box feature, to insert keyboard text anywhere.

I dont think it exists and it should be introduced, in order to be able to really mix the 2.

I am aware of course of the Scribble feature, but that is not at all what I’m after.

Thank you for your help

Hi there baptisteVan,

We understand you'd like to have your typing and drawing in the same sections in the Notes app, and we'd like to share some information that can help.

There isn't currently a way to have the typing and drawing sections together on your iPad. Learn more here: Draw or write in Notes on iPad

You can also submit feedback regarding this here: Product Feedback

Cheers!
