Trading in old devices

If I trade in a device, ex; an iPhone x, can I use that credit toward an iPad, or can that credit only be used to get a new iPhone? Also, can I trade in multiple devices (Apple watch series 1, and iPhone x) and add those credits together to get a new device, an iPad.

iPhone X, iOS 14

You can trade-in eligible devices towards the purchase of anything you like. You can individually trade-in as many eligible devices as you have - each device being assessed individually as to their value (if any).

If trade-in occurs in-store, you have instant credit to spend - or you can take the trade-in as an Apple Gift Card to spend against a future purchase.
