I received a 12 month subscription to Apple TV free because I bought a new Apple IPhone. How do I use this for my TV without being charged

First redeem the offer on your new Apple device. Apple TV+ - One Year Offer - Apple

Then sign in on the Apple TV box with your Apple ID account that has the subscription. Or sign in to the Apple TV app on your third party device with your Apple ID account that has the subscription.

Then the subscription will be recognized, and you will be granted access to all the Apple TV+ content in the Apple TV app.

You need to redeem the offer. This will only work if:

• You bought the iPhone 90 days ago or less
• You are not a current subscriber of Apple TV + (NOTE this is NOT Apple TV!!!!)

The subscription belongs to your ID, not the individual device. Just sign in on the TV. Note that if you don't cancel the free trial you will be charged at the end of the year automatically.
