Apple Stocks app not refreshing!

I have given up. From what I've been reading about others' experiences, it will either begin working on its own - or it wont. In my case it hasn't. The stock price in the widget is blank, when I click on the symbol the stocks app opens and I am shown the closing price from the last day it worked. FYI on my screen GAMESTOP is still killing it at over $400 :) . I am unable to add new stocks to my list; every lookup fails - there is no response. The stale data leads me to believe the issue is related to the source; either the mac isn't grabbing data, the source changed, or the source isn't populating the pricing. The issue is between the stock app and yahoo finance. In any case it doesn't work anymore. I've been using the yahoo finance homepage for my watchlist :(

If you do find an answer please post - I'll do the same and hopefully, one day we can have what we used to have before apple "fixed" it.

FYI. jdo_apple just copied some garbage from apple's help area and posted it.....he is likely just trying to acquire community "points" rather than fix your issue.

Have you tried to manually refresh the app? If not, press Command-R to refresh, then check to see if this helps.

If that doesn't help, have you tried quitting the app then restarting your Mac? What about checking for macOS updates? We recommend doing this next.
