Delete iCloud backup of Setttings, other corrupted "preferences"

Unfortunately I believe some of my saved settings in iCloud are corrupted/associated with legacy data or likely worse. I would like to delete the systems preferences backup and possibly more. Would data in Settings Preferences and Safari cause issues with DNS redirection and could it impact my iPhone if all synced together using iCloud?

Do I need to submit a request to Apple?

Thanks!

Hi horcruxjoe,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you have questions about using iCloud on your Mac. We are happy to share information that may help.

While documents, data, and files from your Mac can be stored in iCloud, your Mac is not backed up like an iOS device is through iCloud. Check here for how to back up your Mac: Back up your Mac

If you'd like more information about how iCloud works on your Mac, check here: Set up iCloud on your Mac.

You mentioned an issue with System Preferences, Safari, and DNS redirection. Are you currently experiencing this on your Mac? If so, could you provide a few more details?

Cheers.
