A 2012 iPad 3 is almost 9-years old now.
Apple stopped supporting 8-10-year old devices well over 4 years ago.
Third party app developers stopped supoort these old iPads over 2 years ago.
That iPad 3 model is long out of warranty.
If you didn't get actually hurt from this battery explosion and your Home was not caught on fire and destroyed in some fashion ( very lucky ), then count your blessings.
Apple owes you nothing for that old device.
We are all sorry to learn that the old, rechargeable batteries in that iPad unexpectedly exploded in your himr, but this does not change the facts.
This is an old device and Apple really does not owe you anything
