airprint problem

My HPDeskjet2540 has recently (perhaps after a Big Sur upgrade) been failing to print. When the HP2540 is first powered-on it works OK, then a few minutes later it won't print again. The solution is to power-off/on, delete the items in the print queue, and start again. As far as I know the HP2540 has never changed, and has never previously behaved like this.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 11.2

Hi there,


Try these steps, but first, make sure the HP is on WiFi.


Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Select the HP in the list > hit “-“ > hit “+” > Select the printer, and for “Use”, use AirPrint > Add it, and try printing.
