Battery life is less than 2 hours on Macbook Pro 16".

Hi,

In June 2020 I bought the Macbook pro 16". I have a lot of issues with the laptop, but the biggest one that is getting worse is the insane battery drain. If I do nothing on the laptop, it lasts for around 4 hours, which is insanely low.

However, if I have a meeting like today, my battery goes from 100% to 26% within 1 hour 20 minutes. The software is Jitsi Meet in the browser. This also happens with Microsoft Teams and Zoom. See the picture below:

This issue is unacceptable. Apple advertises 10+ hours of battery life.

Edit: I forgot to add the things I've tried:

PRAM reset
SMC reset
Fresh install of Mac OS

Hi,

Try to run Apple Diagnostics if it reports something related battery errors.

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support

Apple Diagnostics reference codes - Apple Support

If it reports battery related errors, you'd better replace battery at Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider if they are open or send out to Apple Service Centre before 1 year limited warranty is over.

Thanks for the tool. unfortunately it doesn't show any errors.

However the problem still persists and makes the laptop unusable when it's not plugged in.
