Safari won't connect to the internet. Why is this happening?

Safari is in my dock, and the wifi is connected but when I try to use Safari I get a message that it is not connected to the internet.

Th is most likely because you are not connected to the internet. I suggest that you need to confirm your internet status. What do your settings show in System Preferences for Network? Have you tried connecting to the internet with another browser? Have you confirmed that your router/modem is turned on and is working? You can visit your internet provider's web site where most of them have apps to help you diagnose and fix problems. I would do so. Until you are able to provide us with some more specific information, there is little we can do for you at this point.
