Hi,
I'm trying to resurrect a very old Mac. What's the most recent mac OS an iMac (late 2009) 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 can run?
I've been hunting around but don't see a clear answer.

There are also versions that run on iOS and iPadOS.
10.13 is the newest supported version.
However, High Sierra really wants either an SSD or 8GB Ram upgrade. 4GB with an HDD is not going to run 10.13 very well. If you aren't planning on any hardware upgrades I'd suggest stopping at El Capitan (10.11).
High Sierra 10.13.6 is the end of the road for a late 2009 iMac.
