Macbook pro thunderbolt ports

Hello,

I am inquiring about the thunderbolt ports on a MacBook pro-2020. I am about to become the owner of one with 2 thunderbolt ports. So I was wondering what each port on each side does and also if I could charge my laptop while I connect a multiport adapter.

All help is appreciated.

All the USBC ports are the same— so yes any port can use the charge cord.

Yes you can charge at the same time as using a multi-port adapter— no issues.

General rule of thumb, if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need portability run off the battery.

Your Mac will never over charge, and the battery will last longer lessening the cycle count.
