Is my hard drive dead? What are my options here...?

When I try internet recovery mode I see the spinning world and then get to the recovery utilities. I cannot install the OS as there is no volume available, and disk utility is as in the attached image. There's only three gig there and I can't erase anything.

Does that mean my hard drive is done for? What are my options from here?

Internet Recovery Option Command R it looks like you are booted to the recovery partition on your mac

Let the Globe spin until you connect to the Apple servers—

See if your Disk Utiltiy there can see your HD and run the First Aid on your Macintosh HD (and the "Macintosh HD-Data" volume as well if Catalina/Big Sur) If errors are found and repaired, run again until no errors reported.

Disk Utility>View>Show All Devices The best sequence is —

• Volume level

• Container level

• Parent drive

Reinstall the macOS if necessary from the same Recovery
