How to stop photo sync from iphone to ipad.

I would like to stop syncing the pictures I take on my cellphone to my daughters ipad. I have followed previous instructions to turn off icloud photos on the devise I do not want the photos to appear on. I just want to clarify if this would be the ipad in this case? What is confusing me is the message that appears below the icloud photo sharing. It is making me feel as though this setting should be turned off on my cell phone as well in order for the pictures not to upload to other devices. Again, so far I just turned it off on my daughters ipad and want to confirm if this will resolve the issue. thank you!
