iPhones volume buttons won’t control iPhone volume

Hey,

I have an Apple tv which also use as a home hub.

Every time after playing music from my iPhone on Apple tv, my volume buttons won’t control my iPhone volume.

Even if I manually disconnect it, turn off wifi or going out from home it still won’t control the volume.

The only thing that works it to restart the iPhone (which means that it’s not a hardware problem).

As you can see in the photo, it’s not connected but I still can’t control it.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Wstrn,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having an issue with the volume controls on your iPhone after playing content to your Apple TV. We're happy to help.

When checking the settings is the option to control the volume with buttons on or off? Does the behavior change when this feature is switched? If needed, the guide here has the steps to help enable or disable the feature to test: Adjust the volume on iPhone

If the issue continues, test force closing the Music app on your iPhone. Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch

Should the issue remain and your tvOS and iOS are fully updated, Contact Apple Support

Cheers!
