Cat eating Apple Watch bands

When I left it on my desk for charging, my cat discovered that the silicon in the solo band is better than catnip. He ate both sides of the band down to their attachment points. Called Apple and they told me that this type of accident wasn't covered. They did laugh about it though, but they wouldn't replace the band or take the cat back.

Customer service? Might need a product liability lawyer. My cat is looking a bit poorly......

Cats are strange creatures. I have one who scratches at anything clear and shiny (windows, pictures hung on the wall, plastic bins, certain plastic bags). And some cats eat headset cables. A fair number will eat anything string-like to their possible detriment.

Although if it were my cat I'd give a call to my vet, I suspect your cat will be fine. Silicone itself is relatively harmless unless one is allergic and your cat would be in bad shape if they were. Keep an eye on their box to make sure they are pooping normally. If they are not, contact your vet as they could have an intestinal blockage.

Best of luck.

P.S. Very lovely cat.
