What is the best way to back-up your iTunes music?

If you have lossless files, I suggest that you back up to an external drive.
iCloud storage is not meant for music and Apple Music or iTunes Match are not backup services.

It varies; for a Mac, it's generally by either using Time Machine or a cloning utility.

That's what I thought. I do both but they are local. Does Apple have an iCloud or other solution? I have a lot of lossless CDs stored and not just music from Apple.
You can upload them to iCloud Drive manually, or sign up for Apple Music and use the iCloud Muusic Library.
