changing sound output and input sources

I have a headset that I'm using with the iMac. Is there a convenient way to switch between using the headset and Mic, back-and-forth with the iMacs internal speaker and mic? There are times when I might want to use one and not the other. So far all I've found, is having to go manually to preferences>sound and make the change there. Thanks for your consideration.

Hi coopmax,

That is the only way I am aware of. You can add the speakers control to the menu bar though for quicker access. (System Preferences > Sound > Show Volume in Menu bar.)

Cheers,

Jack
