How do I sync my new ipad air to my IMac--the cord has a different fitting

Your new iPad Air4 is suppled with a USB-C to USB-C cable.


If your computer has USB Type-A ports, this being the more commonly used standard for older devices, you’ll require a USB-C to USB3 Type-A cable. These are readily available from good computer stores.


Apple directly market two suitable cables from Mophie:


  • mophie USB-A Cable with USB-C Connector (1 m)

As you are likely aware, direct connection permits full synchronisation of data and all media files from your iTunes Music Library - the latter not being possible via iCloud.
