After a recent fresh install, I’ve noticed that deleted items from the main library, not playlists, are being deleted straight away and not going into the recycle bin.
I’m sure I’ve come across this before but cannot for the life of me remember what the solution was
Anyone help ?
The external media drive has always had a recycle bin:
This morning just for giggles, clicked on the Advanced Preference to reset all dialogue warnings - no idea why that would make a difference as it's just warnings, and it seems on first glance to be working again and items deleted from iTunes are first appearing in the recycle bin before 'final' deletion from there.
V strange. My next try would have been repairing the recycle bin with rm -rf ~/.Trash but didn't think that necessary as items deleted from my external boot drive already go to the recycle bin as do items merely sat on my external media drive, just not from the iTunes app.

It will be a Windows thing. In principle if the drive is classed as removable then it doesn't get a recycle bin. See https://askleo.com/wheres-the-recycle-bin-on-my-usb-drive/.

You fooled me calling it the recycle bin instead of the trash. Glad to hear normal service is resumed.

Where is your media folder located? No recycle bin for network locations.

Files are deleted but don’t go to the recycle bin.
Was working perfectly before I did a fresh install yesterday. Don’t know why .... permissions seem ok TT.
