iPad Pro 11 first gen suddenly lost mobile data.
So I noticed a day or two ago that I had no mobile data. I’ve been using the iPad with a Three sim for over a year without issue.
There are no “sim error” messages, it’s like it’s just forgotten it’s a cellular iPad.
Removing and replacing the sim makes no difference, but the sim works in another device.
In general>about settings section, Network provider is listed as iPad 45.0.
Mobile number says unknown.
Under the mobile data toggle, all I get is a link to add a data plan through a qr code which I don’t have and have never had.
Ive fully reset and reinstalled the iPad and still nothing.
I guess the sim port has gone bad somehow as it just doesn’t seem to know it even has a sim slot. I’m not getting any no service messages or anything, it just doesn’t see there is a sim installed.
The IPad is out of warranty and I’m not paying £400+ to send it to apple to be looked at.
Its mental that a less than 2 year old £1000+ device can be rendered useless so easily, but I know apple won’t help at all and I’ll end up having to buy a new one..
Before I bin this one anyone have any other ideas?
The iPad did auto update the other day, but I can’t say for sure if the problem started at the same time, but it is possible.
