Watch App and Watch show different user name

Hi there,

I noticed that Watch App on my iPhone shows different User name than my Watch device. When I completely close Watch App (on my iPhone) the user name automatically become "Apple Watch", even though I have previously updated it to any custom name. Nevertheless, it appears that the name change stays on my Watch device, but each time I shout down the app on my iPhone, my custom name disappears and "Apple Watch" comes by default?

Has anybody else experienced the same issue?

Hi. The problem is that if I shut down the Watch app on my phone, each time I re-open it the custom name has disappeared and I see by default "Apple Watch". But in the same time, if I try to see the name on my Watch device, no problem occurs - the custom name has been saved successfully.

Check the name in the following places;

On the phone in Settings/general/about

And in the watch app on the phone in General/about

And on the phone contacts app tap on name to change and tap on edit in the top right corner.

Open the Watch app on the iPhone, then go to General > About. Make sure your name is listed here

Also in General, tap on Apple ID to ensure your Apple ID is signed in.
