Repeated varied attempts to put iphone 8 into recovery mode has failed

My iphone 8 passcode is lost. I have followed instructions in Apple Support to go into recovery mode. I have had no success.

I ended upgrading to an iPhone 12. Today I attempted to log on to my iPhone8 but apparently, I forgot my passcode. After 4 failed attempts at trying to unlock my iPhone, I gave up and restored it using iTunes. I have never used iTunes before (as my previous restores have been thru iCloud) but I followed the instructions, and it was going smoothly. Upon finishing the restore my phone restarted and a message said, "iPhone unavailable, try again in 8hrs" Why did it do that? Did I do something wrong? -Lee

Iphone 12 won't recognise correct passcode Iphone 12 suddenly won't accept passcode which is 100% correct. I tried force restart, updating ios through macbook, and still nothing. Now I am left with all white screen with bottom text "swipe for recovery", then I am asked to type passcode and to verify it, after that loading bar starts with the text "attempting recovery data", at the end loader stops and I got white screen and botom text "data recovery failed". I do not have a backup, so the data stored on the phone is very important to me. Can you solve this problem with some emergency update? As you can see there are so many same questions about iphones suddenly stopped recognising correct passcodes, so obviously the problem is not with the users, we couldn't all get collective amnesia at the same time.

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you can’t update or restore your device with recovery mode, you can't

use recovery mode because of broken buttons, or your device is stuck in

Activation Lock, contact Apple Support.
