Mac Air M1: Software update doesn't update

System says CLT's need to be installed or updated.

I've just installed Xcode 12.4 and even Command Line Tools from the repo,

yet Software Update continues to say:

An update is available for your Mac

Command Line Tools for Xcode 12.4

How to refresh and fix this error?

Mac won't perform latest update. Recently bought a Macbook Air and things have been fine until the latest automatic software update which isn't working. The latest update is about " Command Line Tools for Xcode 12.4 and Xcode 12.5". Everytime I try to update this the update looks like it's about to finish and install but then it loops back to start as if nothing has happened. Updates for Command Line Tools XCode 11 on Catalina Hi! Two days ago I shifted to Catalina. After that, I keep on having an "available update" notification in my preferences, concerning Command Line Tools for XCode 11. The problem is that, even if I download the updates and try to install them, at the end of the process OsX verifies for available updates, and returns me again exactly the same updates! This is very bothering...I also tried something manual from the terminal, but apparently without success. Can you help me?

MacBook said it is update on macos 11.7.2. I need to update it to use xcode I am trying to update my MacBook. It’s currently on 11.7.2 and says it’s up-to-date. I need to update it to use Xcode.
