New iphone asking for old iphone passcode when I never had any

I am upgrading to a new iphone and man this is a pain. I've lost 3 weeks trying to get everything from the old to the new phone. Now my new phone is asking for the old iphone passcode but I never had or set one on the old phone, and no I did not have face recognition or anything else. How do I continue now?

Hey there RosaMCanas,

We'd like to help with both issues, starting with getting the data from your older iPhone to the new one.

Here are three methods to transfer your data:

  1. Here's how to Use Quick Start to transfer data to a new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  2. If you made a backup of your older iPhone, you can use these steps to Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup.
  3. This link shows how to Set up iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If you had content syncing to iCloud with your older iPhone, setting this up would allow your new iPhone to sync with the data in iCloud.

As we're unsure of the issue with the passcode, we'll need to know more about what's happening:

  1. If this is regarding the Lock Screen passcode, the next steps to follow would be the ones here: If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled
  2. If you're still able to access the Home Screen in your iPhone, where exactly is it prompting you to enter a passcode? The more details you provide, the better equipped we'll be to help.

We look forward to hearing back from you, and take care!
