I have a watch series 4 and no matter what I do I can’t get the walkie talkie app to install. I’ve just upgraded from a series 3 where the walkie talkie worked fine. When I go into the App Store and try and download it, the ‘get’ button is greyed out and it won’t let me download or install it.
I’ve tried the FaceTime activation, paired/unpaired watch, even tried backing it up from the series 3 backup, still nothing works. Am I missing something?

Hi, thanks for the reply but my problem still persists. I tried turning ScreenTime off, turning it on and allowing installing apps as you suggested, but it still won’t allow me to install it on the watch. It has however, for some strange reason, appeared in the ‘Allowed Apps’ list in screen time.
I don’t know what’s going on with it anymore.
Hi, I do have screen time on for my sons phone, but I don’t have any restrictions on my account. Also these settings haven’t changed from before when I had the series 3 watch when the walkie talkie worked fine. It’s only since getting the series 4 watch that its stopped working.
And if you have screen time turned on then;
Tap on screen time.
Then content and privacy settings
Then iTunes and App Store purchases
Then deleting apps set this to allow.
Install apps set this to allow.
Solved - turns out the watch is from China and therefore doesn’t have walkie talkie functionality. That’s the gamble you take with buying second hand I guess.
The App Store says it is compatible, yes. The watch has the latest watchOS installed, 7.3
Have you checked hte system requirements for the app? Do you have that system on your Watch?
Do you have screen time enabled?.
