Apple ID: Asked for security questions that never had an answer.

I manage the Apple IDs for my parents (they are allergic to passwords & accounts).... Successfully reset the password on the one ID (user name known, password known.)

However! I am now being asked for security passwords and one of them never had an answer, period.

The question w/no answer is always in a mix and as such have no way to proceed or get them reset up on their account. Their account information is written down in case something like this happened and this questions is NOT present.

We ran into this once or twice in the past, where we are surprised by foreign security questions so we made a point to write these down...and here we are again...we never answered Dream Job in this case.

PixelRogue1,

Thank you for trying to reset your security questions and we understand it's important to get those reset to only security questions that your parent has chosen. Since you are seeing this random security question and unable to reset either the password or security question, you can contact Apple Support for further assistance here: Contact Apple Support

Best wishes.

PixelRogue1,

We understand that the Apple ID email and password are working. We referred to Apple Support for further help with that security question only, as that wasn't selected by your parent as a security question, which shouldn't be happening. You can also se the available phone numbers for Apple Support here: Contact Apple for support and service

Have a great rest of your week.

Hey there, PixelRogue1.

We understand that you are getting a security question for one of your parent's Apple ID accounts, which was never a selected security question. Are you able to reset the security questions? This article shows how: If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions If possible, you could try resetting the security questions and then try resetting the password.

Let us know how that goes. Take care.

The user name and password and known and working as expected (except unable to update apps even though we know the password and password is working.)

security questions - and one of the question never had an answer.

downward spiral this will go, because wiping one of the devices that my dad lives by is an app called Clear Record that is no longer available...so wiping the device runs too much risk....setting up a new Apple ID hits the same friction point... everything has been written down to prevent this from happening and it happened anyway, again.
