From what we can tell, the Trackpad on your MacBook Pro sometimes isn't responding to clicks around the outer edges of the Trackpad. We're glad you've connected with us in Apple Support Communities, and we can provide some guidance. 

To start, you'll want to be sure the Trackpad is turned on. "Your Force Touch trackpad doesn't click when it's turned off, because it needs power to provide haptic feedback (like clicks).
