Mac book pro - 2013

Opened photoshop... my computer wants to upgrade to the latest operating system. My computer can’t handle it and I want to quit the install. But I can’t, it keeps taking me in a vicious loop I can’t get out of.

enter my computer password....
goes to the apple icon with black screen
macos could not be installed on your computer. An error occurred while loading the installer recourse. Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again

”restart” only option.

I have done this process 5 times I can’t get out of the loop.

can I hold down keys to force the install to quit?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.13

Three Things:

A. Try Safe Mode:

Hold Down the shift key upon boot and see if you are able to log in successfully.

B. Then, Uninstall Photoshop:

If Photoshop is giving you this error, then it may be a corrupt file, in which case, you would contact Adobe, asking for a new installation file and key.

C. Important:

Always Backup First: Prior to any software installation, be certain to make a backup of your Mac using iCloud or your computer. That way you can have something to restore tour Mac from, should anything go wrong with the installation. Be certain to use an external hard drive of at least 1.5 your Mac's internal storage, assuring you have enough backup storage.
