I can’t get my iPad with a home button to go into restore mode
I have tried the hold the home button while connected to laptop until screen goes into restore mode. It will not

It is important that you first press and hold the Home Button AFTER the cable is plugged in. Cable in PC, then connect to iPad - the second the cable is in the iPad, then hold down the home button.
