iTunes won't accept my debit card

Hi

I’ve been trying to add my credit card information for 2 weeks and iTunes won’t accept it. It’s the same card that I have always used. It is a debt card, I have never owned a credit card and don’t plan on getting one.

I also wanted to sign up for Apple TV but can not because of my payment information.

What’s going on?

Joe M.

Hello CaryJoel,

Read this link about what to do "If your payment method is declined in the App Store or iTunes Store" - Click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT203005

If you still have a problem contact Apple:

Click here --> https://support.apple.com/choose-country-region/media-services Select an option and keep on working your way down the menu until you get to one saying your "topic isn't listed". This will present you with support by chat or telephone call.

Remember, the volunteers responding to you here are just other users like yourself. I do not work for Apple so there is nothing I can do other than advise you. There is clearly some disconnect between Apple and the line of communication to your financial agency. You can start with your bank and ask them to see if there's anything from their end or the authorizing system they use that would result in Apple getting a "bad card" response from whomever they are asking for payments. If you want to try approaching this from Apple's end then you need to contact them using one of the methods I provided earlier.
