You will have to wait until you can enter the code again. If you already know that you do not remember the code, then your iPad needs to be restored. Unfortunately, all your data will be lost unless you have made a backup. Remember, after restore, you still need to enter the code for the Apple ID that was logged in to the device before making a restore.
How to do a restore:
First, if you are using PC, then you need to download iTunes. If you use a Mac, you do not need to download anything.
1) Turn off your iPad completely
2) Connect your USB to Lightning cable to your PC / Mac
3) Connect the cable to your iPad, the moment you connect the cable hold down the Home Button and hold it down - until you see a screen with a computer and cable icon. It's Recovery Mode.
Now you should have the option to do a restore from your computer. Press Restore, your computer will download a new IPSW to your iPad, then it will restore it and update.
Worth noting. If Find My iPad is enabled, you will be prompted to enter the code for your Apple ID when your iPad is restarted.
