My Apple Pencil 2nd Gen not charging even though it says it is?

So my 2nd gen Apple Pencil was charging fine up until yesterday when I realised that it was only at 49% so I put it on charge but it’s stuck on 55% and won’t charge anymore than that? It’s working normally and when it’s connected to my iPad Pro it says it’s charging? I’ve tried re starting my iPad Pro several times and also unpaired my Apple Pencil a few times but it’s still stuck at 55% and I’ve also noticed that it’s not connecting straight away to my iPad Pro when I place it down, it takes a good few attempts for my iPad Pro to recognise it and show the charge percentage which actually goes up 1% when it finally does connect but then is stuck on that percentage. I’ve only had my Apple Pencil for just over a month.

Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions?

Hi Charrr89,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your Apple Pencil is not charging fully and is having some issue connecting to your iPad Pro.

Is your iPad charged completely? If not, try charging your iPad to 80-100% then see if the same issue occurs when you try charging your Apple Pencil.

Check to make sure that the tip of your Apple Pencil is screwed all the way in. Also, if you have a case on your iPad, remove that and try charging your Apple Pencil again.

Charge your Apple Pencil and check the battery

Take care.
