iTunes Store is unable to process purchases

I’ve been getting “the iTunes Store is unable to process purchases at this time”. For the entire week now. Tried all the suggestions to fix this but still doesn’t work. Any ideas? Granted, it’s an old IPad (A1395) which runs on IOS 9.3.5 but until now I had no problems...
