Camera disappeared from iphone 8

My camera seems to have completely disappeared from my phone. The icon is gone from the main screen. When I swipe up, it is not there either. When I go into my settings and look for it there, it's missing from there also. I have no idea why it would suddenly vanish or how to get it back. I've been searching and searching online but I keep getting the same answers -- "tap and hold your home screen and locate it there...". Nope. When I tap and hold the home screen it just shows me all the icons I already have and I can delete or move them around. I've look in the other icons to see if it magically got moved into one of them. Nope. Again, when I slide up, it's not there either and it's not in the settings. Any ideas????
