Iphone 8 plus hearing problem

Thanks for the follow-up info. Let's see if we can isolate this trouble you're having. Follow these steps in order, and let us know the outcome:

1. Make sure the ringer is turned on.

2. Go to Settings > Accessibility.

3. Tap Audio/Visual.

4. Slide the audio volume balance slider all the way to the right.

5. Go to Settings > Sound & Haptics > Ringtone.

6. Tap on a ringtone to play it.

7. Listen to the sound from the receiver.

Repeat these steps after changing balance slider to the left. Listen for the sound using the speaker rather than the receiver this time.
