Why would Apple diminish the value of its messaging app by installing the "send with effects" feature as a default that comes with periodic update. I DON'T WANT TO SEND A MESSAGE WITH EFFECTS, as i am not a teenager or grandparent who thinks that that is really cute. It is an incredible pain to not only stop sending a given urgent message, but then have to go recall how to disable the feature.
Bad job on this, Apple. Fix it.

Is it possible that you may be pressing (tapping) a little too hard or keeping your finger on the SEND arrow too long in the messages app during sending? Try lightly tapping and the message will be sent exactly like you typed without the sub-option of Send With Effects.

However, I suspect Axel is correct. It sounds as if you're pressing and holding the send button rather than tapping it. Fortunately, retraining your muscle memory won't take much time. You just have to slow down and be careful for a couple of days.

Apple has a long and storied history of deciding they know better than the user what the user wants/needs.
I tend to forget this feature even exists until someone asks this question as I never see it. And I send a lot of texts. Tap lightly and it won't appear.

Moreover, if i wanted such a (annoying and irrelevant) feature as part of my usage, it would seem much more appropriate to explicitly MAKE ME activate that feature, not have to go out of my way to deactivate it. It may be my imagination, but it truly does seem to return/reestablish itself following a system update.
It would almost be like everytime you went to start your car the radio would come on blasting out loud rock music, and you had to physically turn it off. That would be a pretty annoying amenity feature, right?
