How to add a working hyperlink onto Microsoft Powerpoint using a Mac?

Hello,

I am in the midst of writing an assignment and part of that assignment requires me to add a creative poster (using Microsoft powerpoint). I was told to add hyperlinks onto my poster but for some reason, my powerpoint does not let me do this…

I am able to copy and paste https://www.historicenvironment.scot/visit-a-place/places/skara-brae/ onto the powerpoint but unlike what I just did here, if you click on the one in the powerpoint, it does not bring you to the website.

I have also tried to type text, highlight it with curser, go to insert, select hyperlink from the drop down menu, insert the url into the box. But when I do this, even though the colour of the text changed, it still won’t bring me to the original website. The URL itself works fine when I paste it onto safari.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Thanks

Hi there 666Panda,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you would like to add a hyperlink in to a PowerPoint document, but it is not working the way you expect. This Microsoft article shows how to add hyperlinks to your documents: Create or edit a hyperlink in Office for Mac.

If you still need help, reach out to Microsoft support by following these steps: How to contact an app developer.

We hope this helps!
