Apple Mail not recognizing "other" email account (from GoDaddy email)

I bought a new MacBook Pro running 10.15.7, set up Mail to run my GoDaddy email, all was working fine until I found out it was set up as IMAP which meant my storage limit (from GoDaddy's server) was reached within days

So, I attempted to switch to POP (which lets you select option to delete messages from server after retrieval) as my prior computer has the GoDaddy email set up as POP and works flawlessly running Mac OS 10.15.4.

After switching to POP on my new computer I got the message saying it doesn't recognize my GoDaddy login (says can't verify username and/or password).

Then, I tried switching it back to IMAP and now it's not recognizing my GoDaddy email there either.

Is there a known issue with 10.15.7, and/or why is this only happening on my new laptop and not on my old one?

Hello VaporDave,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue setting up your email account on your MacBook. You mentioned that you had the email linked however after changing it from an IMAP to POP is when you started to experience issues. Just to verify, did you manually go in and change it to POP or did you remove the account and try adding it back as a POP account? Also, did you double check the mail settings using the Mail Settings Lookup tool?

If you haven't done so yet, check out the GoDaddy Workspace Email Help and if needed connect with them for additional support.

Best regards.
