Apple ID

How do I change my Apple ID so my phone number is connected to message and FaceTime? My Apple ID settings just says that my email is for my Apple ID and my phone number just stands alone and I asked my friend and she said that under her phone number it said that it’s connected to messages and FaceTime. How do I fix this?
