Sign out of messages on your iMessages:

>goto settings

>scroll to messages icon

>toggle off iMessage


this is how you make sure messages are only on your phone and not shared with other devices.


If you actually meant turn off texting in general, you have two options:

1) Turn off mms in messages which will stop everything except text.

2) Call your cell carrier and tell them to turn off text messaging.

Yes, that was very helpful but I am now confused when you said, "this is how you make sure messages are only on your phone and not shared with other devices". I may have messed up my messages, on my MAC I was able to complete the logoff and sign back in with the new password but there are times when I get a message I will hear the tone on my MAC but not on my iPhone. How would I share with my other devices like my iPhone and my MAC?
