Ipad typing wrong characters pressed on 2 different Bluetooth keyboards

iPad  types } when i type ‘ on either of my bluetooth keyboards. It was working fine until recently. All the letters work fine. There are a number of other crossed wires, so to speak, on other characters. I{m baffled. I typed an apostrophe, but it gives me the bracket thing. Thanks!

You probably just have the wrong keyboard mapping chosen. Go to settings > general > keyboard > hardware keyboard and tap over at the right edge and make sure it has US checked (or whatever language you normally use) and NOT "automatic" or something else.
