my brother got an iPhone X and where trying to orginise his Apple ID we put in his name and last name and then I go to put his date of birth and click continue and it says invalid date of birth what does this mean

Since this issue is happening only after entering his birthdate, is your brother perhaps under 13? If so, he would need to have a child account created instead.
