My work iphone has keychain permanently disabled by the company. Is it 'safe' to use with my personal information?

My iPhone is supplied to my company via a secure procurement process, and can be connected to my personal iCloud account.

I know how I should be able to enable keychain in settings, and 'Home' keeps nagging me to enable, but the option isn't there, not even visible.

I wonder if my employer has taken steps to protect the company, wholly reasonable, but I wonder if this has left my personal data less protected?

Thank you for your advice.

I think I see your point, the only way I can be certain that my information says in my hands, and only in my hands, is to stay separate as far as possible.

If I give control or access to anyone else I am at increased risk.

If I leave a spare key with a neighbour I am fine, until I fall out with the neighbour, or the neighbour loses the spare key, or gets burgled.

Apple's device management frameworks allow very limited access to personal info on devices. I can see what apps are installed, control what the user can and can't do, and remove passcodes/activation lock. I can't remotely see any data on the device. That said, it is a company device, so you really shouldn't be using it for personal use if you're concerned about your privacy. Once a passcode is removed, the company could have full access to your device. Most of us have no interest or time to go through it unless a court orders us to do so.

Thank you for your advice.

what I am hearing is that whilst you could again access to my information, you don’t.

I understand the phone is company owed, they are promoting that we may use the phone for personal use as well as company, as a trade off; I get a phone, they get to call me, email and etc...

it’s their property so they can wipe it if they see fit.

I don’t think there is anything sinister going on, but if I lost all that useful information, and it wasn’t available to be restored I would struggle.

Thank you
