Will an unlocked US bought iPhone 12 work for PASMO/SUICA in Apple Pay

I just bought an unlocked iPhone 12 and Watch Series 6 and planning to bring them to Japan.

Based on prior threads, it should work on the major Japan networks like NTT Docomo or Softbank.

However, I am interested to know if I can use the phone to pay for train and subway rides (SUICA/PASMO)?
