Wi-Fi works on one user account but not the other?

Hey there,

I’ve been having issues with my Wi-Fi over the last few days — my MacBook would say “connected” but it wouldn’t actually work and, even worse, it would bring down the whole network! None of my other devices would work while my MacBook was connected to my home wifi.

I created a new user in my Mac to see if the problem persisted, and it works perfectly. So how can the Wi-Fi work great on one account but not another within the same laptop?

I’ve looked at the Network settings on both accounts and they’re both identical! Not sure what to do, any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Please check if you have any malware in the problematic user account.

Also, you can use "Activity Monitor" to identify which apps are using more Network Packets/Bytes.
